The lodge sits directly on the Cateran Trail and offers a pick-up and drop-off service for hikers. Glenshee Ski Resort is a 25-minute drive away, and the lodge can arrange transportation. Cairngorms National Park, Pitlochry, and Blairgowrie are all within a 30-minute drive.

A fresh Full English/Scottish breakfast is served each morning, with gluten-free options and vegetarian haggis available. Frozen microwave meals from a local butcher can be purchased in the dining room. Packed lunches are prepared on request for guests walking the Cateran Trail or skiing at Glenshee.
